Franck Noto, better known by the pseudonym Zest, is a French artist born in Montpellier. Coming from a family with an appreciation for painting, he discovered the art of graffiti and tagging in 1995, when he was not even fifteen years old, and quickly became hooked. Now an abstract painter, his style remains deeply urban.
Zest’s work synthesizes his varied influences. It is structured by key elements that recur throughout his art, including vibrant, fluorescent colors and the female body. The sensual curves of these figures contrast with the cubism of shapes and letters, becoming lost in a pictorial maze where suggestion triumphs over representation.
Zest revisits the classical codes of graffiti, breaking free from conventions and pre-established rules. He blends styles and techniques, using everything from brushes to spray cans, markers, and rollers.
With his team, TDM, he has created vibrant murals found in major European capitals, as well as in New York and Nouméa.
